We've been delivering quality childcare for children age 2-5 years since 1992. Based in theTarner area of Brighton we pride ourselves on our community ethos and having close partnership's with families. We believe in putting children before profit and we are a charity owned and run by families for families.
We are a term-time only setting- which means we have the same holidays as schools.

Our Session Times and Prices
(From Sept 25)
Mornings
9.00am -12.00am cost = £16.50
Afternoons:
12.00 am - 3.00pm cost = £16.50
Full day:
9.00 am - 3.00pm cost = £33.00
Flexible Hours:
9.30am - 2.30pm
Cost = £27.50
Option for adhoc early drop off from 9.00am or late pick up at 3.00pm
for £2.75 (per half hour)
(Concession rates available, please ask for details)
Hot lunches: cost = £2.00
Or bring a healthy packed lunch!
Funding:
Most of our children have 15 or 30 hours a week free funding from the government- if you don't know if your child is eligible for funding Just ask and we will help you find out!

We are open from 9.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Fridays, Term time only

Our Staff
The Puffin team are all highly qualified with years of experience behind them. As well as having 2 qualified teachers on the staff we have an Early Years Teacher trainee and no one below a Level 3 qualificaton. All our staff attend regular training to ensure that they are up to date with the latest developments in Early Years Education and all staff have Pediatric First Aid training as well as Food and Hygiene training.
We regularly support children with SEND as well as children with English as an additional language.
This ensures that you can feel confident that when you leave your child with us, they are in safe hands.
Meals and Snacks
We are lucky to have our own cook at the Nursery who provides freshly cooked meals every day. There is no need to book a lunch weeks in advance, just let us know on the day if your child would like a hot meal. Alternatively, they can bring in a healthy packed lunch from home.
We also provide breakfast during the morning session and a snack in the afternoon. The children will often help prepare snacks, helping make bread, pizza, scones and even sushi! Breakfast and snacks are provided free of charge.
Funded Sessions
Every child receives funding for 15 hours nursery or child care from the term after their 3rd birthday. At Puffin, children can have their funded hours at any of our sessions morning, afternoon or our full days during school term time.

30 Hour Funding
Some 2, 3 & 4 year olds whose parents are working are eligible for 30 hours funding, to see if you are eligible follow the link below:

You will need your National Insurance number to hand. Eligible children can have up to 30 funded hours per week at any of our sessions, morning, afternoon or full days during school term times
If you wish your child to have extra sessions on top of their funded sessions, these will be charged at the prices shown above. If you wish to cancel your child’s attendance at Puffin we require one month’s notice of leaving.
